The Petrobras Bonds are honored when challenged by foreign companies or foreign governments, as the Brazilian laws clearly state. One needs to be a foreigner and outside of Brazil to initiate collection from the Brazilian Government and win without much of a hassle, when done inside of Brazil more difficulties seem to arise.

Other options for their use include:

-the payment of any bill incurred with the Brazilian Government or with Petrobras and its subsidiaries;

-the liquidation of up to 40% of any privatization of a Brazilian Governmental Corporation;

-these bonds pay in full Brazilian federal taxes with least or no judicial processing;

-these bonds pay in full Brazilian bank debts with least or no judicial processing.

-they can also be used as collateral, deposited in AAA banks to generate SKRs for the raising of lines of credit.

Petrobras tries to evade payment on these, giving out information to inquirers saying that these bonds are expired, information which goes contrary to Brazilian Law. They maintain a policy of denial, as many Brazilian companies do.

Petrobras tries to not pay cash to its creditors so that it can keep a balance in its books, but they cannot deny payment to foreigners or foreign corporations as the actual Brazilian laws state.
