interesting how many people spell incorrectly the word <cynicism>. probably because of the translation from their mother tongue.

Btw, it is not clear if collapse of Turk-Cyprus negotiations will ever ban Turkey from applying to the EU? Although it is hard to expect a U-turn in referendum(s). What I still hope for is a bit of politics, as US for instance does not probably want any decisions on EU part that may radicalize Turkey and inside Turkey opponents of West may get a badly needed card saying: hey look, west is not willing us, they treat us like monkeys, want us be their slaves and dance to their tunes but why should we? In such case I suppose US will exert more pressure on EU. Further, EU may become deeply split itself on the issue which it would like to avoid, but may still decide to leave dirty job to the new coming mini-me(s) countries. PS: what I would suppose for both Turkey and Cyprus as a whole would be: you guys sit down to the table and clinch a deal, otherwise no one of you will ever become a part of EU. I do not know but could it be a good stick and carrot for both? Lets hope political winds are changing and Turkish bid will not die automatically with seemingly collapsing reunification process.

Apparently in greater BA area there is one kidnapping per day. I never expected such a degree of violent crime in Argy.

spaldo <they are actually shooting in their feet> I would not say so, they simply worry about infiltration of terrorists so they shrunk permits for only those nationals whose countries are low on terror list. Marvelous, now traveling to the place I will feel safer… :--))) otherwise you will think I am serious. Seriously speaking there is no explanation to collective madness going around many places so a no surprise with the rules IMHO.

spurs, you know it so tell me, would a law suit I mentioned fly? I suppose American justice is very obsessed about any kind of such discrimination and punishes those responsible hard. I think this girl can easily prove it as she at the time of her entry carrier was surely sleeping with the guy and so then the guy will have to prove that there was unfair treatment of her on his part? Hm… if I would be born in US I most probably would become a lawyer, this is really big fun.
04-02-04
Glutt:
torgay, test what? btw, as soon as you are here would you tell your expectations for Cyprus deal. Simply, is there a chance or it is dead and whether this will deter Turkey’s bid for EU accession talks? As always your expert opinion is appreciated.

Glutt:
Btw, I am not a lawyer but I suppose if this girl had employed not only her sexual organ to rip him off but also her brain (if there would be some) she could easily file a complaint in a US court to sue this guy for …sexual harassment. Apparently this idiot American loverboy himself signs a confession that he allegedly entered in an agreement to help her carrier in exchange for sleeping with her, at least some kind of this interpretation can be made. In this case this guy will lose not only those 60K but also entire cards and big amounts on good lawyers to prove to the contrary. Ah??? Who dares to call the girl and tell her? May be Primo or Opti?

Glutt:
Here are some excerpts from the article PT posted <What people
don’t quite realise is how resilient Russians are — and how much we love
expensive things.> lovely, the girl surely had bonanza with that credit cards of her American boyfriend < Once I was in Paris with my team and the fashion writer
wanted to buy something for her baby. An English colleague suggested
Monoprix. In fact she went and bought something in Baby Dior. I know what this girl earns and it’s not a great deal, but that’s the way we are.” > this is really achievement, so now baby kid can proudly show labels while playing in kindergarten. What is interesting is that such behavior IMHO comes not from the way Russians are but from their poor minded heads as they did not have all of this until recent but now want to compensate themselves for the entire life. So there is nothing to be proud but story is indeed funny and reading plaintiff complaint is very big fun, the guy is apparently an idiot even by American standards IMHO.

<You all have a ploblem with Condy, I think she have more brains then all colores together>Precisely Pillz.
However this is another example of the liberal US media screwing up. Condi was never central to the issue of War in Iraq. She was entirely peripheral. Neither was she in much of a position to do much regarding the 9/11 warnings coming at them. Bloody idiot Dems or Dem journalists should be concentrating on the decision to invade Iraq, who made it and why it was made. Similarly it would be nice if someone asked Ashcroft why he stopped flying on commercial aircraft in September? Same with several of the senior administration officials. By concentrating on Condi, they are attacking the member of the admin who is most likely to have exculpatory evidence. Straw man, or in this case woman.
If you want to get at the administration, they should be asking why exactly Dick Cheney paid weekly visits to Langley in the run up to 9/11 and after, and what his conversation with the CIA were about.
There is a theory going around the US intelligence community (i only know ex-spooks so take with a pinch of salt), that says the senior officials had plenty of warning of an unspecified terrorist threat, and more specifically a hijacking threat. They chose to do nothing cos a) the warnings was not sufficiently specific and b) nothing could be better for their agenda of increased security spending, and eliminating troublesome interest groups than a minor hijacking.
How were they to know it wasnt going to be a minor routine hijacking!

victorn: <how can brazil change cac w/o approval of bondholders? what am i missing?> the news posted later by Mania seem to speak about the clause for new bond issues, not older ones in my humble understanding. <Brazil eased clauses in all new bond sales registered in the U.S., lowering the number of bondholders who have to agree with the government on a new debt plan after a default, the central bank said in a statement.> how could they? One has to look into covenants of new issues containing collective clause. I have not red that so sorry, no opinion. What remains unexplained is whether Brazil changed covenants in that way for all NEW issues or for NEW + NEWLY placed already issues? Good question. Anyway, as Argentina debt saga shows it might be well advisable to have such collective clause and lower approval required in order to avoid stalemate in any possible restructuring. Surely the issuer wins in this situation and bondholder loses, at least holdout will become difficult if nearly impossible to pursue. I suppose we have spoken long ago about this clause and concluded it is disadvantage for bondholders. However looking at how Argentina twists the matter and throws covenants out of the window without any consequences yet I am afraid bondholders may have no better choice. In this sense sovereign debt in EM proves one thing: there is no free lunch, if sovereign cannot go in CH11 like corporate that does not automatically mean better chances and value in this or that case. So whether previously high yielding sovereigns were sweet and we maintained usual EM sovereign addiction mantra today levels of spreads are different while more sad questions come to investor mind.

<BTW: some interesting law suit regarding Russia Journal's John Helmer >Thanks PT, that document made my morning. Couldnt happen to a more deserving case. Im glad to see idiot yanks who couldnt keep it in their pants, paying the market rate for their stupidity. what is the difference between a dvd+rw disc and a dvd ram disc in practical terms? i understand that both can hold 4.7 gb of data. the only thing i have found out about dvd ram is that it's recommended for backing up data, while being compatible with future generations of dvd readers. can't you backup data on a regular dvd+rw disc? or is it not reliable to use a dvd+rw for this purpose?
