 GLOBAL MARKET HIGHLIGHTS
*Bushs Fiscal Vision 12-17-04 (PBS) At an economic conference Wednesday, President Bush pledged to reduce the growing deficit to help boost the dollar abroad. Two economists discuss the president's fiscal plans for the country.
*Dollars and Deficits 12-17-04 (Yahoo) Some economists see the currency's dive as a sign that America's borrowing and spending spree is beginning to compromise its economic future. Consumers -- following the lead of the administration -- are carrying a hefty load of debt with very little savings. The optimists say that as long as the economy continues to grow, all will be well. But a growing chorus of critics warns that there's a price to pay for all those unpaid bills.
*U.S. Economic Data Gives Dollar Relief 12-17-04 (Yahoo) BERLIN - The U.S. dollar rose slightly against the euro Thursday as the U.S. government reported a current account deficit in the third quarter that was a record high — though not as large as had been predicted.
*Split decision on U.S. economy 12-17-04 (Yahoo) Economists assembled in Washington by the White House for a high-profile summit Wednesday maintained forcefully that the American economy is robust and growing. But many experts outside the Bush administration's circle of advisers and allies insist the president is overlooking warning signs that could affect the economy's long-term health.
*Account Deficit Hits Record $164.7B in 3Q 12-17-04 (Yahoo) WASHINGTON - The deficit in the broadest measure of trade climbed to a record high of $164.7 billion in the third quarter of this year, reflecting Americans' hardy demand for imported oil and foreign-made goods.
*Iraq Awards First Post-War Oilfield Contracts 12-17-04 (Yahoo) BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq (news - web sites)'s oil ministry has awarded the country's first post-war oilfield development contracts to Turkish and Canadian firms, an oil official said on Thursday
*Almighty dollar not so mighty anymore 12-16-04 (Yahoo) Too many influnces caused by the dollar low...

 LATIN AMERICA
*In Sao Paulo, Houses of Rich, Poor Rub Shoulders 12-17-04 (Yahoo) SAO PAULO, Brazil (Reuters) - The gap between rich and poor in Brazil is huge but when it comes to housing, they often live side-by-side. Developers boldly spend millions building high-rise towers and luxury condominiums overlooking shack-filled slums. In the United States or Europe that would a spell doom for a project. Not in Brazil.
*Brazil, Land of Itsy-Bitsy Bikinis, Gets Fatter 12-17-04 (Yahoo) SAO PAULO, Brazil (Reuters) - It may be known as the land of slender supermodels, champion soccer players and itsy-bitsy bikinis, but Brazil is increasingly fattening up like the United States. A government study released on Thursday said 40 percent of Brazilian adults, or about 40 million people, are considered overweight and another 11.1 percent are obese.
*Brazil corruption charges urged 12-17-04 (BBC) More than 90 people in Brazil face possible charges after a two-year state inquiry into money laundering.
*Argentina Turns Polo Fame Into Polo Fortunes 12-17-04 (Yahoo) LOBOS, Argentina (Reuters) - Prince Harry and the Duchess of York aren't the only foreigners helping to turn Argentina's stellar polo scene into a thriving business.

 RUSSIA
*Q&A: The battle for Yukos 12-17-04 (BBC) The long-running battle between the Russian government and leading oil producer Yukos is coming to a head.
*Russian Oil Company Takes Dispute to U.S. Court 12-17-04 (Yahoo) Russian oil company Yukos files suit against the Russian government in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Houston, Texas, attempting to head off an auction of its main production unit. NPR's Adam Davidson reports.
*Russian oil fight lands in Houston bankruptcy court 12-17-04 (Yahoo) Russian political intrigue has been rattling the international oil business all year, and on Wednesday the Moscow-based brawl between the Kremlin and energy giant Yukos actually tumbled into a Houston bankruptcy court.
*YUKOS Awaits U.S. Ruling on Break-Up Order 12-17-04 (Yahoo) MOSCOW (Reuters) - Embattled Russian oil major YUKOS should hear later Thursday whether a U.S. bankruptcy court will back its last-ditch attempt to halt the sale due Sunday of its main production unit.
*Yukos Wants Judge to Block Auction of Unit 12-17-04 (Yahoo) HOUSTON - The chief financial officer for Russian oil giant Yukos testified Thursday that the company properly filed its request in Houston when it asked a judge to block this weekend's auction of its main production subsidiary in Moscow.

 OIL PRICES
*Alaska Files Protest to Pipeline Price Hike 12-17-04 (Yahoo) ANCHORAGE - Alaska has filed a formal protest of a proposed rate increase by the owners of the trans-Alaska oil pipeline to ship crude oil down the 800-mile line.
*OPEC Sees Lower Oil Demand Growth in 2005 12-17-04 (Yahoo) LONDON (Reuters) - The OPEC (news - web sites) oil cartel on Thursday said it expected a surge in oil demand to slow next year, projecting weaker economic growth in North America and China.
*Oil Falls More Than $1 from 2-Week High 12-17-04 (Yahoo) LONDON (Reuters) - Oil prices fell over a dollar on Thursday, tumbling from a two-week high as traders took profits after dramatic gains on Wednesday driven by renewed fears over fuel supplies for the northern winter.

12-12-04  Alexander: bought RF28 for 17, in the amount of US$ 7.000.000.--

did you, boy ??

12-12-04  Alexander: lolo, anakhnu n'zakhnu in ha 2 intifadda

12-12-04  ozymiani: < Alexander: used to be a good site where we fought and won the Russian crisis>

you <fought> also the 9/11 crisis, on the wrong side

and the 2nd entefadah, on the wrong side again

If you are proud of it, it's your problem

For me, it's enough for having this latrine shut down.

And for being happy it was

12-12-04  ozymiani: <we fought and won the Russian crisis>

you fought the russian crisis? really? and won it? cool.

you should tell the Russians that the crisis has been won. Looks like they didn't get the news.

12-12-04  Alexander: used to be a good site where we fought and won the Russian crisis, th Ukr crisis and the Eucador crisis

12-12-04  ozymiani: < victorn: besides, coloresmembers are not interested in coming back here >

so why are you here all the time, pretending that this latrine can be resuscitated?

the place is dead, and deservedly so

go post your propaganda on a <closed-circle> website.

12-11-04  victorn: besides, coloresmembers are not interested in coming back here so it's pointless to discuss emb here.

12-11-04  victorn: post something about BONDS

Barry Bonds had a great season...

12-11-04  Alexander: wow, Zombie back again

12-11-04  banko: I am here, pls leave poor oz to my care, it's my duty!

12-11-04  Alexander: post something about BONDS

NOT about other persons

thank you

12-11-04  victorn: i am not insulting anyone. i just copy/paste two of ozy's posts and changed three words.

12-11-04  Alexander: why is everybody provoking Ozzy and then complaining about getting insulted ??

sick³

12-11-04  victorn: ozy <nahhh, let's rather call it: "male Bonding homo forum". That's the passtime you morons are engaged in most of the time.>

if by <passtime> you mean <pastime>, I wouldn't care: you lost your marbles long before you lost your job, and that's more important.

what's this sudden and abrupt use of English (or attempt at), by the way? Did you forget your nazi kraut-spanish dialect?

12-11-04  Alexander: but France is completely uninteresting due to the 25% coupon tax

12-11-04  kuda: funny ????

In france the bond market is very reasonable :

-the max authorised daily variation is 2%....as a result some bonds do not quote for months! because if your broker do not call Euronext 'salle de surveillance' to ask :please let this bond change so you can wait a long time (the gliding price is not automatic).

-thanks to the €....a lot of bonds have 1€ nominal....as the market is small it s quite impossible to take big positions.

-for french clippers ,due to the illiquidity of the system you can buy old bonds with a big discount !

12-11-04  Alexander: more deficit than Germany without reunification in order to keep the ppl quiet....

12-11-04  Cciano: there were times even birds flew only belly-up over france in order to avoid seeing the misery below :-)

disclaimer: no offence meant!

12-11-04  Alexander: <<< The French have been>>>

the french have to uphold their bankrupt socialist spending system by all means

12-10-04  PaxWax: <Kuda> ~ nice info on French bonds and the Paris market. The French have been shooting themselves in the foot for years. That's why they are small players in the art auctions markets, too... You have a taxman looks over your shoulder for everything you buy, from cars to African art, painting etc. A German artist friend transporting his paintings to Zürich from Spain had to pay some huge customs charge before they would give him back his OWN PAINTINGS. All that expertise is wasted on the bureaucratic mentality ~ same goes in Germany so I hear.

12-10-04  banko: I am here, glutt, order,order!

12-10-04  Glutt: Ozymiani <"male Bonding homo forum".> thanks for informing but I am not interested in details of your private life … count me out please.

12-10-04  Alexander: es is auch nich nötig den Ozzy grundlos zu provozieren wenn er schon mal nicht an board is. Wozu der Scheiß ?????

12-10-04  Alexander: habschon gemailt, nix neues, alles soweit paletti....

12-10-04  Cciano: alex, we is angesacht, ne?

12-10-04  Alexander: hi kids, nuff BS for today....!!!

12-10-04  Cciano: jajaja, mr. ozholemoroniani, nobody more eagerly passing his time here than your-cute-self-phony-creep.

12-10-04  ozymiani: < Glutt>: <lets rename this site to: ''Insult Mr.Ozymiani and be insulted Joy Site!''>

nahhh, let's rather call it: "male Bonding homo forum". That's the passtime you morons are engaged in most of the time.

12-10-04  Glutt: lets rename this site to: ''Insult Mr.Ozymiani and be insulted Joy Site!''

12-09-04  Alexander: <<<look to sold my ecuadors 2030 .....time for the us to go up and to ecuador to get a better note.>>>

12-07-04  Patient-Trader: Towers' Insurers Must Pay Double

A federal jury said yesterday that the destruction of the World Trade Center constituted two separate attacks, entitling the developer Larry A. Silverstein to collect up to $2.2 billion, or double the insurance coverage provided by nine insurers at the complex. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/07/n...

12-06-04  kuda: yukos ?
