Severed penis retrieved from toilet is reattached

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - A 44-year-old Anchorage man has had his penis surgically reattached after it was cut off by an angry girlfriend and flushed down a toilet, local police say.

The events unfolded about midnight on Saturday, after the pair had been arguing over an impending breakup, an Anchorage Police Department statement said on Sunday. At some point, the two decided to have sex and the man agreed to let the woman tie his arms to a windowsill.

But the woman used a kitchen knife to amputate her partner's penis and flushed it down the toilet, police said. She untied the man, drove him to a local hospital and was cleaning up the bloody scene when police arrived at the home, according to the statement.

Summoned by the police, workers from the local water utility pulled the toilet up from the floor and were able to recover the severed penis, which was rushed to the hospital for the successful reattachment surgery on Sunday morning.

Police declined to identify the victim, but said his assailant was 35-year-old Kim Tran. She was charged with assault, domestic violence and tampering with evidence, and jailed without bail.

Katherine Earle, 40, jumped over an acquaintance�s four-foot fence at 603 N. Sixth St. just before midnight Tuesday and took off her clothes to start wrestling with the male dog, according to the arrest affidavit.

Earle woke up the occupants of the home, who called the police, according to the affidavit.

When the police arrived, Earle told them she was having sex with the dog and that she does it all the time, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit said Earle was very intoxicated.

Earle had a warrant for her arrest and was booked into the Mesa County Jail to serve a 25-day sentence, according to the affidavit.

Six Starr, the dog�s owner, said she has known Earle for two years, but in the past six months Earle has started acting strangely. Starr said Earle is friendly with the dog, but this is the first time she has been caught wrestling naked with it.

�What took place last night, I don�t even want to guess,� Starr said.

The dog, named Blue, a Labrador retriever and blue heeler mix, appeared undisturbed by the events. During the interview, he was chewing on Earle�s sock, a souvenir from the tryst.

Italian Baked Lasagna
Recipe Ingredients

* 1 lb. Lasagna pasta noodles, cooked * 2-16 oz. jars meatless sauce * 1 lb. Ricotta cheese
* 1/2 C. grated Parmesan cheese * 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin * 3/4 C. chopped onion
* 2 cloves garlic, chopped or minced * 2 tsp. salt
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 2 lbs. ground beef
* 1 tsp. Italian seasoning

Cooking Directions

* 1. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions or until tender but still firm. Drain, keep warm.

* 2. Meanwhile, saute the ground beef, garlic and onion is a large heavy skillet or saucepan until beef is done. Add sauce, salt, and Italian seasoning and mix well. Simmer on low heat 12 to 15 minutes. In a separate bowl, combine eggs and ricotta cheese.

* 3. Grease a 9" x 12" or larger, deep sided baking pan. Arrange a first layer of noodles across the pan so the ends hang over the sides. (The ends will be laid back-over the top for the final layer. This helps to hold lasagne together when cutting servings) Then add a layer of the cooked beef lasagna sauce, ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese. Add a second alternating layer of pasta (lengthwise in the pan), the meat sauce and cheese mixture. Repeat until pan is almost full then fold over the ends of the first layer of noodles and top with more lasagna sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes, or till cheese is bubbly.

Allow to set for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting. This recipe can be modified to suit individual preferences.
