This service has been the international bank rating service of choice for banks, government agencies, and financial institutions around the world since the early 1980s and has earned a reputation for quality and consistency. The CreditDisk delivers Fitch IBCA's International Bank Rating Service on CD-ROM. It may be installed either on a network or an individual PC. The CreditDisk includes all the information provided by our paper service, offering a convenient electronic alternative to subscribers. Features include the ability to copy/paste text or data to other applications, to sort and rank institutions, to create and save portfolios of banks, and a RatingAlert window. Subscribers receive e-mails of topical interest or rating changes as they occur. (Price depends on package ordered)
BankScope, a joint venture between Fitch IBCA and Bureau van Dijk, the Belgian based software house, is a comprehensive database of financials on 10,000 international banks (including 1,500 U.S. banks). Users can retrieve up to eight years of detailed raw data, spreadsheets in the Fitch IBCA format, or personally designed spreadsheets. BankScope is specifically designed to generate statistical comparisons and peer group reports.
Data may be downloaded to other software, or retrieved from BankScope using the "add-in" feature into Excel or Access. Thus, BankScope may be used to feed highly sophisticated credit scoring models or credit approval systems designed in Excel or Access. Historical Reuters news on banks and bank ownership/structure is available as optional features on BankScope, and credit ratings from the major rating agencies worldwide are included for any rated banks. Our Ratings Review service is generally of interest to investors who require summary credit information, opinions, and bank ratings and is particularly popular with corporate treasurers. This service contains our ratings, key financial statistics, background, and one-page credit assessments of 650 banks around the world. The service includes a monthly update of interim rating changes. Subscribers also receive special reports dealing with topical issues or crises in banking, and, most importantly, fax or e-mail notification of any rating changes or RatingAlert. This service is also available on CD. (US$5,000 per year or US$6,500 on CD)
Fitch IBCA's sovereign research product, introduced in 1994, now provides in-depth commentary and debt ratings for more than 50 countries, as well as sub- and supra-national entities. Sovereign risk is the key to understanding a country's bank and corporate risk because the government's power to tax and impose foreign exchange controls may restrict the ability of banks and corporates to service their obligations. Our team of economists also produces special comments on new developments in risk analysis. (Call for quotes)
